Freedom from the suffering that is often associated with persistent pain is possible.  While pain may not fully go away, it can and does change and for some it significantly reduces and even goes away over time.  With the right support, understanding, and a compassionate, consistent approach, it is possible to change pain and live well alongside pain.  Ann believes meaningful change is always possible and she is here to walk alongside you, at your pace.

Best practice in the management and rehabilitation of persistent pain recognises the importance of a whole person approach –  care that acknowledges and honours the inseparable connection between mind and body.  Ann draws on the best available evidence from physiotherapy, neuroscience, and integrative somatic therapies, and tailors this to meet your needs.  Her approach is always compassionate, collaborative and responsive to your individual needs, experiences, values and goals.

Understanding you as a person is central in the therapeutic process and tailoring care.  Ann takes the time to listen deeply and compassionately to your story, recognising that being heard is a powerful step in healing.  By working collaboratively it is possible to reduce the distress and struggle that is often associated with chronic/persistent pain, and support you in reclaiming the ability to move with more ease, engaging in more of the meaningful activities and relationships, and take meaningful steps towards thriving.  Together, we focus on helping you live well, do what you love, and thrive again.

Why Choose to Work With Ann at Unity Physiotherapy & Wellbeing?

Ann is a Pain and Fatigue Specialist Physiotherapist and Integrative Somatic Therapist with extensive experience supporting individuals living with pain, fatigue, dysautonomia (including PoTS), ME/CFS, fibromyalgia, long covid, and other complex, multi-system conditions.

Her approach is rooted in integrative, compassionate, trauma-informed and person-centred care.  Ann takes a whole-person view of health, combining clinical knowledge with embodied practices that support nervous system regulation and gradual, sustainable changes.

Your story will always be heard, valued, and respected.  By working together in partnership, you’ll be supported to take steps toward what matters most to you, whether that’s doing more of what you love, rebuilding confidence, or simply living with more ease.

What makes Ann’s approach unique is that she also brings lived experience to her work.  She lives with PoTS and ME/CFS, and has previously navigated persistent pain.  While each person’s path is unique, her own journey and that of the people she has worked with gives her a nuanced understanding of both the clinical evidence and the realities of living with complex chronic health conditions and healing.

Healing from complex, chronic conditions takes time, compassion, and the right support.  With Ann at Unity Physiotherapy & Wellbeing you’ll be met with compassion, deep understanding, clinical expertise and the belief that positive change is possible.
