Somatic Wellbeing Coaching
Somatic Wellbeing Coaching is a body-oriented approach that combines reflective conversation with somatic and embodied practices. It draws on the innate wisdom of the body to support wellbeing, self-awareness, nervous system regulation, and personal growth.
Unlike traditional coaching, which may rely primarily on cognitive strategies, somatic coaching recognises that lasting change often begins through the body — by noticing sensations, breath, movement and patterns of such as tension or ease. This supports insight, integration, and meaningful change from the inside out.
This approach helps you deepen your connection with yourself by tuning into the subtle messages and experiences held within the body.
Trauma-Informed Somatic Wellbeing Coaching
Trauma-informed somatic coaching acknowledges that trauma can profoundly impact the whole person – mind, body, and spirit (including a person’s sense of meaning, safety, connection, and belonging).
This work is grounded in the core principles of trauma-informed care: safety, trust, choice, collaboration, empowerment, and cultural sensitivity.
Alongside compassion, somatics and embodiment, my trauma-informed approach places particular emphasis on:
- Nervous system awareness and regulation
- Compassionate inquiry and embodied exploration
- Functional Breathwork
- Mindfulness-based practices
- Developing internal resources for regulation and nervous system capacity
- Building on strengths and cultivating resilience
Together, we gently explore how sensations, emotions, and patterns of response are expressed in your body — with curiosity, compassion, and without judgment. This supports the development of a personalised toolkit for regulation, building nervous system capacity, self-compassion and meeting life’s challenges with greater ease, wellbeing, and self-agency.
Your body remembers the path — together we rediscover it
My Approach to Somatic Wellbeing Coaching
My approach is integrative, compassionate, and nervous-system-informed. It weaves together:
- Trauma-informed coaching principles
- Nervous system regulation & resilience
- Somatic and embodied practices
- Mindfulness-based and compassion-focused approaches
This work is informed by established models including Polyvagal Theory, the Window of Tolerance, and the Three Circles Model from Compassion Focused Therapy, alongside my own PACE’s & SIM’s framework and Compassionate Nervous System Regulation approach.
Together, these support a compassionate, non-pathologising understanding of your nervous system and wellbeing, cultivating greater choice, regulation, and agency.
