Somatic Wellbeing Coaching

Nurturing your body’s wisdom for wellbeing, growth, healing, and thriving
What Is Somatic Wellbeing Coaching

Somatic coaching is body-based, integrative approach that draws on the innate wisdom of the body to support greater health, wellbeing, self-awareness, and personal growth.  Grounded in principles of mindfulness, somatic awareness, and embodiment, this modality helps individuals deepen their connection to themselves by tuning into the subtle messages and experiences within the body.

Unlike traditional coaching, which may rely solely on cognitive strategies, somatic coaching recognises that lasting change often begins by working through the body – by noticing what’s present and engaging with sensations, movements, breath, and patterns of tension or ease to create meaningful insight and transformation.

What Is Trauma-Informed Somatic Wellbeing Coaching

Trauma-informed somatic coaching acknowledges that trauma can profoundly impact the whole person (mind, body and spirit).  This approach is grounded in the core principles of trauma-informed care: safety, trust, choice, collaboration, empowerment, and cultural sensitivity, along with the 4 R’s of trauma-informed practice.

Alongside the foundational elements of mindfulness and embodiment, trauma-informed somatic coaching with Ann places particular emphasis on:

  • Nervous system awareness and regulation
  • Compassionate inquiry and embodied exploration
  • Developing resources for self-regulation and nervous system capacity
  • Building on strengths and creating new ones

Together, we explore how sensations, emotions, and patterns of response are expressed in your body.  You’re gently invited to notice what’s present in the moment—without judgment and with a compassionate curiosity – as a way to cultivate self-understanding,

This approach supports the co-creation of a personalised toolkit for navigating stress, regulating the nervous system and building the internal capacity to meet life’s challenges with greater ease and resilience, wellbeing, and personal growth, and taking steps towards healing & thriving.

Your body remembers the path—together we rediscover it.

Ann’s Approach

Ann offers a compassionate, integrative, and therapeutic model of somatic wellbeing coaching that weaves together:

  • Trauma-informed coaching
  • Nervous system regulation
  • Somatic and embodiment practices
  • Mindfulness and compassion-based approaches

Her approach is informed by several well-established and integrative models including:

  • Polyvagal Theory
  • The Window of Tolerance
  • The Three Circles Model from Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)

Along with her own PACE’s & SIMS’s Model (from her book, there’s an image of this below) and Compassionate Nervous System Regulation framework.  These models support clients in developing a compassionate non-pathologising understanding of their nervous system and overall wellbeing, empowering greater choice, regulation, and self-agency.

Ann offers this work through:

  • 1:1 Integrative Somatic Therapy
  • Group-based Integrative Somatic Wellbeing Workshops
  • Bespoke Somatic Wellbeing Programmes

Her approach is particularly supportive for individuals living with chronic conditions in which nervous system dysregulation is a common feature, including:

  • Persistent pain
  • Fibromyalgia
  • ME/CFS
  • Long Covid
  • Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (PoTS)
  • Functional Neurological Disorder (FND)
Compassionate wellbeing

Mapping the Nervous System

An important part of understanding your nervous system involves nervous mapping – a process that helps you identify patterns of regulation, activation, freeze and shutdown.

This practice cultivates greater awareness and attunement to your internal states and offers insights into how you can respond with care, compassion and intention, rather than from reactivity and overwhelm.

What Are the Benefits?
