Ann was very kind and understanding, and it made a difference feeling listened to and supported. It was also really helpful that she has personal experience with the condition, as it meant she truly understood the challenges that come with it. The pacing strategies we worked on were especially useful and gave me practical ways to understand and manage my energy better. I now know what activities burn me out the fastest as well as the warning signs that I’m over doing it which allows me to prevent PEM more. I also appreciated the conversations around values and purpose, which helped to re-build my confidence and self-belief, which was very helpful to me in general and when it comes to making decisions for my health. Overall, I came away with a better understanding of my condition and feel more able to manage things going forward.
